long-delayed parliamentary elections will take place on
December 29, more than a year after President Alpha
Conde was elected in the country's first democratic
polls. Guinea's electoral commission on Thursday
announced that long-awaited legislative polls would take
place on December 29, over a year after the country held
its first ever democratic election. "We have just
announced nationally and internationally, to our
partners, government and political actors, the holding
of legislative elections on December 29," elections
chief Louceny Camara told journalists.

of West African States (ECOWAS) commission, said his
group is coordinating with Liberia’s electoral body to
ensure a free and fair vote. His comments come as the

constitutional referendum. The commission announced
