Martin Dorliae’s genocidal Manifesto: a classic platform of hate and destructions
By: Mohamed Sherif
04 June, 2010

On Sunday, May 31, Mr. Martin Dorliae was elected President of the United Nimba Citizens Council (UNICCO) at their annual convention in Newark, NJ.   It must be noted that Mr. Dorliae's victory is a huge loss to unity and progress among Nimbaians in the Diaspora in particular and every other Liberian in general. This intensely tribal bigot with a genocidal agenda has done nothing but to further divide the people of Nimba along tribal and sectarian lines.

In 2008, Mr. Dorliae released his genocidal manifesto in which he laid out his anti-Mandingo platform. Mr. Dorliae, the ex-husband of a Mandingo woman and the father of a half-Mandingo son, viciously accused Mandingoes of selling poisonous caustic soda to Gios and Manos during the NPFL invasion of 1989. Up to this very moment, Mr. Dorliae has shamelessly failed to produce any quantum of evidence to substantiate his bogus claims. Lies, they were and Lies will they be forever and ever! These kinds of lies have the potential of inciting violence and mayhem, the likes of which we sadly witnessed for fourteen years.  As if we've not had enough, Mr. Dorliae summoned the so-called sleeping elephant of Kua-play. After the horrific Massacres in Karnplay, any talk of a sleeping elephant from Kua-play can only denote a repeat of the human wave genocides that occasioned our recent national calamity.

Mr. Dorliae goes on to accuse Mandingoes of supporting the Doe regime in its campaign against the November 12 invaders without providing the details of the circumstances that precipitated any such support. If this was the case, how will Mr. Dorliae explain the brutal murder of Military Police captain Mamadee Finnah of Sanniquellie by dissidents even after Finnah expressed support for the invasion? How will Mr. Dorliae explain why  former Ganta Mayor, Eugene Keedor desecrated the Ganta Mosque by urinating on the premises of the Mosque and pledging to break it down when he returned from Sanniquellie on the morning of November 12?  Thankfully, Mr. Keedor did not return to demolish the Mosque as he met his untimely demise in Sanniquellie.  How will Mr. Dorliae explain the murder of early morning Muslim worshippers in Butuo on the morning of December 24 1989? How can Mr. Dorliae not fathom the fact that Mandingoes have traditionally supported all Liberian governments including Barclay, Tubman, Tolbert and Mr. Doe? Did not Charles Taylor have Mandingo supporters who aided and abetted his criminal enterprise?

So consumed by incensed anger and hate, Mr. Martin Dorliae spread false propaganda through a devious Manifesto intended to reignite a campaign of ethnic cleansing. All the while, Mr. Dorliae continues to reside in the comfort of his home here in the United States where he receives the full benefits of real equality, progress and personal freedom as enshrined in the U.S. Constitution. Mr. Dorliae has shown no remorse for his hateful literature.

For as long as Mr. Dorliae remains preposterously arrogant the progressive elements of Nimba County and Liberia will continue to oppose his machinations intended to reconstruct deaths and destructions. Mr. Dorliae has the opportunity to transform himself into a statesman by denouncing his May 22, 2008 genocidal Manifesto, seek forgiveness and reconciliation. Mr. Dorliae can also go down the route of personal self-destruction by serving as an agent of terror and hate. While it is not impossible for some human beings to make amends, I doubt if Mr. Dorliae will do the right thing that is minimally required to rehabilitate his damage character and reputation. A wolf in sheep clothing is still a wolf.
