LIBERIA'S INFORMATION MIN. HON. CLETUS
SIEH TO RAP ON FEMALE EMPOWERMENT AT FELMAUSA CONVENTION By: Phamolie Kromah 29 June, 2010 As
FELMAUSANS get ready to congregate and design strategies and methods at
which they can collectively engage in the uplift of their community as
well as Liberia, The information minister of the republic of Liberia
Hon. Cletus A. Sieh will serve as the keynote speaker at this year’s
FELMAUSA Convention Hon. Sieh in his letter of acceptance thanked the
FELMAUSA executives for his preferment. Min. Sieh narrated that it was a
great opportunity for him to have the chance to interact with Liberians
in the U.S. especially a viable organization like FELMAUSA. Min. Sieh promised to use to opportunity to reach out to professional Liberians in the U.S. in an effort to detail the importance of education and female empowerment in the 2010 national development and capacity building agenda. Min. Sieh, a former administrator and a former instructor of E.J. Goodrige high school, Paynesville Community High School and Henri Wilmot Dennis Senior high School said there couldn’t have been a time so essential to talk about female education and female empowerment than now. Min. Sieh is also a former college professor of economics at the University of Liberia reported that he will be arriving on June 26th 2010 in Philadelphia to participate in this grand occasion. During his years at the UL, the illustrious Minister taught the principles of Micro and Macro-economic; an area where he acquired his undergraduate degree with emphasis in Public Administration. Min. Sieh holds a Masters degree in International Relations from the IBB Graduate School of International Studies. Before his appointment as Minister of Information, Hon. Sieh was the deputy minister for Administration at the Ministry of Information Culture and Tourism from 2007 to 2010. Min. Sieh was responsible for the day-to-day operations of the ministry. He supervised the personnel and financial departments in close consultation with the Minister. He also served as the principle deputy to the Minister and acts as Minister in the absence of the Minister and also ensures that the logistical needs of all departments are met for the smooth running of the Ministry. This position he handled very transparently and professionally to earn him the position of Minister proper when the Minister resigned. |
