Breaking News: Frustrated over the status of the Federation, FELMAUSA’s Prez Mohammed Dukuly plans to resign at the upcoming convention in Philly
02 July, 2010
Unconfirmed report reaching our news desk states that FELMAUSA’s president, Honorable Mohammed Dukuly plans to surprise the Mandingo community with his untimely resignation as president of the organization during the convention in Philadelphia, PA. Though the exact reason for Dukuly’s planned resignation is yet unknown, but many community members believe that there are plenty of reasons for Mr. Dukuly to step down. Some of the people we spoke to on the subject cited Dukuly’s growing arrogance and his lack of vision for the organization. In comparison, some are now saying that his predecessor, Honorable Richmond Konneh was by far better- humble, respectful, a better listener, hardworking and more presidential than Mr. Dukuly has ever been.
While others don’t see the need for President Dukuly’s resignation before the end of his term, they however believe that his principal deputy Honorable Mohammed Kromah who is likely to succeed him should he resign would make a better president than both President Dukuly and his predecessor Richmond Konneh.

Amidst numerous speculations about Dukuly’s decision, some are attributing it to the lack of support from the larger Mandingo community and the internal organizational rift that has deepen between Dukuly’s executive and the organization’s board chaired by Honorable Abe Kromah.
Speaking on condition of anonymity, two former officials and diehard supporters of the organization told this site that they have no doubt that Prez. Dukuly will do the right-step down. “In fact, he should have resigned 3 months ago but the delay was simply due to the fact that he did not want to turn in his resignation letter to a board chaired by Abe Kromah whom he now considered his worst nightmare; Dukuly therefore decided to wait and turn in his resignation to the Mandingo community-the very people who elected him barely a year ago,” The officials added. The exact date and time for Mr. Dukuly resignation is speculated around Sunday, July 4th, the last day of the convention, the source concluded.

The lone prominent female Mandingo community member that we contacted about this stunning revelation could neither confirm nor deny the rumors. She did however say that president Dukuly will be missed for his unusual eloquence and lengthy Quranic Recitations at every occasion.

Since becoming president, Mohammed Dukuly has tried but failed to set a goal for his administration. Following his landslide historic election in 2009, educating Liberia seemed to have been president Dukuly’s top focus at that time. When an Ultrasound Machine was recently donated to the organization, the administration focus quickly shifted to conducting workshops for healthcare workers in Liberia, leaving many people wondering whether the administration’s next project would be a workshops for farmers in Liberia were FELMAUSA to be fortunate enough to receive an agricultural equipment as a donation; most recently ,however, it was all about some free health screening for all Liberians within the Philadelphia area and not in Liberia where such noble services would be most needed. “Personally, I don’t care whether Dukuly resign or not, though his resignation would be highly historic considering that African leaders in general don’t know that there is such thing call resignation. As always, I only go FELMAUSA’s conventions to meet and socialize with family members and friends. I must however confess that I was a bit excited about this year’s when I heard that two Mandingo superstars, Djoma Fanta and Massabe Kamara were expected at the event but only to find out that’s wasn’t true either”, the unhappy prominent female interviewee concluded.

Please stay tuned as we seek out key administration staff to comment on this story.
