A Tribute to the Mandingo Nations Web
Site
By: Lussane Sackor
28 July, 2011
When
there was nowhere for us to turn for non- biased
coverage of the Mandingo community, you came to our
rescue. When there was no website that carried our
births, deaths, graduation, and other important
announcements in a timely manner, you stood out. When
other community websites were refusing to publish
“uncensored” materials, the Nations took an objective
approach. When the Nations was being accused of having a
hidden agenda in her genesis, she kept her focus.

By: Sheikh Mohammed Kanneh
26 July, 2011
Brothers and Sisters,
Assalaam Alaykum
Recently I joined community members in Philadelphia to
sympathize and offer our condolence to one of our renown
member who lost his mother back home, while discussing
some funeral and Janaza rituals another question was
raised as whether limiting condolence or mourning to
three days is lawful in Islam, another person asked
whether gathering in the disease family’s home, or
Masjid during the third, Seventh, or Forty days and
consider that as “ Prayer Services” supplicating,
reciting Qu’ran, eating and drinking is lawful.

The Need for Alternative Media in Liberia
By: Nvasekie N. Konneh
21 July, 2011
On
any given day when you buy newspapers in Monrovia, the
headlines are always political. The headline is not
considered strong and attractive enough if it is not
about politics. When you listen to the radio, not much
is different except the fact that radio stations can
play music, and sometimes shares jokes but 99% of the
time the music they play is non-Liberian. Except for
foreign news, musical, or movies, the TV stations are no
different either. You can hardly see any original
Liberian programming on TV except political speeches of
politicians either running for elected offices or
commenting on political issues in the country.

CONAKRY,
Guinea (AP) — Guinea's president narrowly survived an
assassination attempt Tuesday after gunmen surrounded
his home overnight and pounded his bedroom with rockets,
throwing into doubt the stability of the country's first
democratically elected government in a part of the world
that has long been ruled by the gun. President Alpha
Conde was saved because he was sleeping in a different
room when the shooting erupted outside his residence at
around 3 a.m. Rocket-propelled grenades landed inside

FELMAUSA’s 2011 constitution review- A reflection
By: Manyou Bility
15 July, 2011
As one of the many delegates who attended this year’s
convention, I think there is a need that I come out to
clarify some issues that people from the six man council
of the board, along with a non-board member want to turn
around, with their assumption that they will mislead any
groups of people to believe that the Constitution Review
committee didn’t do enough for felmausans to have a
working constitution.

and I believe I could be speaking for members of the
Board of Directors, the joy of meeting and interacting
with fellow Mandingos from all walks supersedes anything
imaginable in the context of the FELMAUSA Objectives.

FELMAUSA Goes to Poll Without Debate
By:Staff Writer

The much anticipated debate for the Federation of
Liberian Mandingos in United States of America (FELMAUSA)
was cut short last night due to unusual disruptive of
behaviors of some convention attendees. Report reaching

Breaking News: Following
Weeks of Crying Foul, the Mamadee Sesay Campaign Finally
Withdraws from FELMAUSA Presidential Race...
01 July, 2011
Mr.
President, it is with a deep sense of loss that we
inform you that our campaign is herewith officially
withdrawing from all festivities marking the 2011
FELMAUSA convention slated to begin on Friday, July 1,
2011. Sir, this painful but necessary decision
was reached based on the following considerations: The
2011 “independent “elections commission has shown a lack
of strength of character to be trusted as an unbiased
referee in the ensuing elections. As a matter of fact,
the so-called independent elections commission is so
dependent on the executive leadership that it has
disregarded its own supposedly “independent” guidelines
in favor of mandates from the secretary-general, Mr.
Phamolie Morris Kromah.
