POLICE BRUTALITY: Two wrongs does not
make right By: Chorphie Charlie 17 July, 2010 The
behavior of the Liberian National Police on the orders of Inspector
General of the Liberia National Police, Mark Amblard returns Liberia to
the dark days, and create a high sense of insecurity. Whether it was a
Deputy Speaker or anybody who did anything wrong to any police officer,
The Inspector General cannot take the law into his own hands, to
prosecute citizens. There is a due process of law, and the police is not
exempted from the due process of law because someone did wrong to one of
their officers. This jungle justice mentality must STOP. Deputy Police
Inspector General Col. Al Karley boasted that the deputy speaker had
lost his legislative immunity. Who made the police director a judge and
jury under the law of Liberia? This whole incident must be investigated.
Two Wrongs Does Not Make Right! On the altar of God I pledge undying resistance to POLICE BRUTALITY. “Excuse me while I throw out.” About the author: Chorphie Charlie is a social and political commentator who resides in Philadelphia. He can be reached at gbanapekin@hotmail.com. |
