IMPORTANCE OF UNITY

Unity is strength. The Liberian Mandingo Community
has shown strength, courage and patient before and after the
civil war. It’s incumbent upon every Mandingo Organization
in the US and around the globe to display highest degree of
unity in order to maintain our prestige back in our “Mother
Land Liberia” where we’ve been considered as merchants for
decades. The unity of people makes an invincible strong
community (UMMAH), this is the reason Islam lays great
stress on the importance of unity. It’s always disturbing to
see this community (Mandingo) with great potential,
wonderful culture (Islam) and wealth but yet we cannot speak
with one voice. Some critics have labeled this distinguish
community members as people who do not respect their LEADERS
and sometimes undermine the credibility of the each other.
The prophet Mohammed (PBUH) during the days of his prophecy
was humiliated, challenged and even denied by his own people
like the way they denied the prophets before him, but he
didn’t succumbed because he was seeking the mercy of Allah
…. Allah Said in the
Glorious Quran “And hold fast, all together, by the rope of
Allah and be not divided” May Allah give each
community leader abundant wisdom and guidance in order to
lead us on the right path.
You may gain prominence in Liberia as an individual and be
proud of it but remember anyone that don’t show mercy or
support for fellow Muslims in this world Allah will not show
them mercy in the hereafter. Our community is one of
strongest defender of Islam in Liberia, it’s very important
that we stand together and speaks with one voice in Liberia
or else we’ll have ourselves to blame. The success of
FELMAUSA lies in your hands (young or old); it’s time to
show support (moral or financial) to prove “critics” wrong.
The future of this generation and that of next solely depend
on how united we are today. FELMAUSA is calling you to avoid
bickering, slandering and jealousy because these are the
work of hypocrites and their resting place is the fire; may
Allah protect us from it. We are calling on our brothers and
sisters to please share with us productive ideas that will
help FELMAUSA prosper thereby helping the needy members our
community. Remember “a man’s true wealth is the good he
does in the world”. In the last sermon from the Mount of
Arafat the Holy Prophet had clearly announced that no Arab
has any superiority over a non-Arab; or the white over
the black. Liberia is for all Liberians and as such we
must live and enjoy all immunities like the other fifteen
tribes.
