A Two Year Old Dispute Resolved in
Thirty Minutes, Community Leader Excited… By: Lassana Bamba 04 August, 2010 ![]() A longstanding dispute between two renowned female Mandingo organizations in Minnesota has been resolved. Benkadi and Sere Sackor were recently invited by the leadership of the Minnesota Mandingo Association to find an amicable solution to their dispute which last for more than two years. At a roundtable discussion held at the Center for Families in Minneapolis, Minnesota, President Mohamed Dorley of MMA reminded both parties to coexist for the betterment of the community. He told them that they are birds of the same flock and that their confluence will promote unity amongst Liberians. The dispute which led to boycotting lots of important occasions by both groups did not have an existing cause; the two traded blame for initiating confusion amongst members. They acknowledged that what was preordained to be personal problems degenerated into chaos within their sister organizations thereby causing serious setback for the community. Moikula and Moidomani, voice streams of Benkadi and Sere Sackor respectively acknowledged that their dispute from back home stirred things up. They vowed never to return to what they considered disgrace but rather work harder for peace and tranquility amongst women of Minnesota and elsewhere. MMA President Mohamed Dorley lauded the sister organizations for their farsightedness in amicably resolving their difference within the range of thirty minutes. He especially thanked them for the respect accorded his leadership. In a related development, Benkadi and Sere Sackor are making huge preparations to grace the baby naming ceremony of Mr. /Mrs. Abu Kuyateh on Saturday August 7, 2010. The program which starts at about 08:00 pm is expected to fetch massive crowd from across the United States, especially Arizona from where Mrs. Kuyateh journeyed. FELMAUSA's Mandingo News Editor Lassana Bamba will serve as keynote speaker. Mr. Bamba is expected to speak on the topic, "The importance of baby naming, the Mandingo scenario." The program which will be held at the Miracle Empowerment Center in Brooklyn Center Minnesota will be graced by prominent members of the Liberian sector. It is hoped that the truce between Benkadi and Sere Sackor will bring about lasting peace amongst women of Minnesota. Their truce has led to a huge support from both parties for the Dorley administration and other Liberians organizations.
