President Richmond Konneh of Felmausa has expressed anger over
reports that his administration is set to borrow five thousand dollars
from the funds raised during the convention held in the Twins Cities. In
an exclusive interview with VOM News via telephone, President Konneh
said “what’s wrong of me adding additional funds onto the funds that
were raised on our website to sponsor the scholarship program for the 67
students currently qualified?” He pointed out that our people should
stop making politics of everything. “This is about helping our people.
Even if I have one day in office, I have the right to help our people.
This is going out of control”, he concluded.
Even with these statements, President Konneh neither admitted nor denied
VOM’s assertion of his attempt to borrow the specified amount.
Meanwhile, Felmausa’s Board chairperson, Abraham Kromah has told VOM
News that the board has sent a formal communication to the President’s
office regarding the issue. He said “The president has no right to take
any funds from anywhere without the board’s approval. The president has
to submit the budget first; the board will go through the budget and
decide whether to approve it or not based on the merits. The President
can’t do this by himself, and he knows it” Mr. Kromah stated.
Recently VOM News learned that the Richmond-led administration was
running out of cash. According to a reliable source, as at now, the
Richmond-led administration has a total cash amount of $2000.00 USD in
the bank for the scholarship program. News about the administration’s
contemplating a decision to borrow the amount of $5000.00 USD from the
funds raised during the convention in theTwin Cities, Minnesota is being
reported in the official circle of the Federation.
Reports say that Felmausa’s Board is set to meet this Friday with
members of the education committee to discuss the matter.
End of Report.
