Icelandic Volcanic Ash Impedes LFA Top Brass Meeting With FIFA Boss

The 'reviving the image of Liberian football meeting' with the world football governing body FIFA President, Joseph Sepp Blatter in Zurich, Switzerland by the Liberia Football Association (LFA) President Musa Bility and Vice President for Administration, Musa Shannon was impeded over the weekend owing to the Icelandic Volcanoe Ash crisis.

According to the secretariat of the LFA, all flights going to Europe, owing to the Icelandic Volcano Ash Crisis were cancelled, which automatically obstructed the two LFA top brass from meeting the FIFA prez to discuss issues relating to the promotion and development of the game in Liberia.
The LFA officials, for the first time since their election last month, were expected to discuss matters leading to uplifting Liberian football.

It can be recalled that, LFA spokesman, Henry Flomo said, following the meeting with Blatter, Vice President Shannon will head to Italy for further discussions with that country's football officials relating to youth football in Liberia.

A rescheduled meeting with the FIFA prez is expected to be arranged to further discuss with the football executive about the development and promotion of the game in Liberia.

Meanwhile, the LFA Secretary General, Idrissa Kaba, who attended the West Africa Football Union (WAFU) congress and the LFA chief security, Isaac Gorwah, who participated in the workshop on stadium security in Nigeria, are expected in the country today.

The last batch of the stranded Lone Star of Liberia is expected to return home today having participated in the WAFU tournament. Lone Star won their last game 3-2 against Togo, having lost the first two against Burkina Faso (1-3) and Ghana (0-3) respectively.
